Are you interested in joining a small but growing international media & events company which is focused on startups and innovation?

Menlo Media is the company behind EU-Startups.com (a leading news publication focusing on startups in Europe) and organizer of the annual EU-Startups Summit. Founded in 2010, EU-Startups.com today reaches over 800K page views per month.

We’re currently looking for a proactive, smart and hard-working News Editor who takes care of our daily news output.

Your main tasks would be:

• To lead our news content creation efforts for EU-Startups.com
• Daily reporting about the most exciting startup news from across Europe
• Communicating with startups and PR agencies on the basis on news announcements
• Other content & communications related tasks (social media, etc.)

Preferably you have the following skills/experience:

• You’re capable of and interested in creating kick-ass content – every day!
• You’re a native English speaker, or you’ll at least have close to native speaker English skills.
• You have some previous editorial, PR, and/or communications experience
• You’re familiar with the common startup & tech terminology, and are familiar with the key players of the European startup ecosystem
• You have basic or advanced knowledge regarding WordPress, SEO, MS office, Google docs,…
• You’re excited about startups, you’re pro-European, and interested in innovation and technology!

Important: Applicants should be based in Barcelona, in Spain, or somewhere else in Europe. This role could be done mainly remotely (as a freelancer) or part-time (about 25-30h per week) in our office in Barcelona.
